The Original Paintings

Inspired by the beautiful setting of her lakeside studio/home, and a lifetime of love for nature, Rita’s original images display an intimate detail and refreshing realism seldom seen in today’s quick pace world. Through her painting Rita combines her passion for nature and creative drive to create intimate images of wildlife and the natural world. The scenes offer us the emotion and irony of the many perfect moments in the world around us that are often overlooked and infinitely beautiful. Rita’s ability to capture the warmth of the sun’s glow and its reflections and shadows that play on her “naturescapes”, draw you into the scene and make the work truly special.

Originally starting in acrylics Rita has recently begun working with watercolours as well and is enjoying working with this new medium. She also works with watercolour on canvas which allows the display of the paintings without glass.

The limited edition giclée prints

Rita offers acrylic and watercolour originals, as well as high quality “giclée” signed, limited edition prints for most of her paintings. Among the highest quality available, Rita’s giclée prints are produced with fade resistant inks, rated for over 100 years, on acid-free watercolour paper as well as on canvas for selected images. They are available unframed or professionally framed with acid free materials to protect and complement the image. The limited edition image, signed and numbered by the artist, also ensures the authenticity and quality of each print, and the smaller limited production increases the value of each print. Each print is personally inspected and approved by the artist before signing and only the number specified will ever be produced.

Original Watercolour Notecards

A limited number of hand-painted original watercolour notecards are available on watercolour paper, (approx. 5’ x 7”) with envelopes. All cards are unique on-of-a-kind watercolour paintings and the supply may vary. $20 each plus shipping.

Commissioned Paintings

A commissioned painting can make a wonderful gift for a special occasion such as a graduation, special birthday, wedding or anniversary.

Do you have a special sunset photograph from your dock?

I am available for commissioned work and if you have a favourite photograph that you would like to have as an original acrylic or watercolour painting you may want to consider this. Sometimes something in the picture is not perfect and through the artistic process we can remove unwanted distractions from the painting, and focus on what is important to you. The above is a sample of one of my commissioned pieces.

Please contact me for a personal quote for your commissioned piece. The cost will depend upon the size and medium of the painting. A 50% deposit will apply to all commissioned work and depending on the painting medium approx. 90 days will be required once a deposit and photographs are received to complete the painting.
